MKEfoodies Holiday Bake Sale - A Success!

This past Saturday, Dec 8th, we volunteered and baked some goodies for the 3rd MKEfoodies Holiday Bake Sale that was held at Best Place in the historic Pabst Brewery.  Thirty minutes into the sale, I whispered to others that I didn't think we would even have enough baked goods to make it until 4:00.  This was true as everything was sold out an hour an a half into the bake sale.

For just $10 you could fill a bag with treatzies.  You could also bid on a silent auction and purchase raffle tickets for $2 a piece.  There were lots of great door prizes donated by local restaurants and I ended up winning the first raffle and opened up a $50 gift cert to a Bartolotta restaurant.  Sweetness!

The bake sale itself raised $1,600 and with the match from OXO Kitchenware and donation from Glad Corp, Milwaukee's total donation to the Cookies for Kid's Cancer organization was over $5,000!

Karis, Lisa, Chris and I manned the milk, silent auction and door prize table.

I made peanut butter cookies that had miniature snickers bars rolled inside of them, with melted dove chocolate on top.  My acupuncturist had shared some of these cookies with me when her husband had made them and I thought they were heavenly so had to get the recipe from her.  It was from a recipe in 1988!
